National Cadet Corps, Naval wing engaged in grooming the youth of the college into disciplined and patriotic citizens. “Unity and Discipline” as motto for NCC. NCC aims at developing discipline, character, brotherhood, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfness service amongst young students. It also aims to enlighten leadership qualities among the youth who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. It also motivates the young to choose a career in armed forces.

  1. Sohail Khan of B.A-III selected as Senior Cadet Captain of 1-Chandigarh Naval Unit for 2018-19 session.
  2. Mohit Sharma of B.A-II won the Bronze Medal in Open Sight (3P) in the Inter Battalion Shooting Competition held in Chandigarh from 4th  to 7th  June, 2018
  3. Ashish Jha of B.C.A-II won the Bronze Medal in Peep Sight in the Inter Battalion Shooting Competition held in Chandigarh from 4th  to 7th  June, 2018
  4. Mohit Sharma of B.A-II won the 2 Bronze Medals in Firing & Semapore competitions in Directorate Level Naval Training Camp (DNTC)-1 & Combined Annual Training Camp held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 12th to 21th June, 2018.
  5. Mohit Sharma of B.A-II won 2 Medals (Gold Medal in Firing & Silver Medal in Semapore) also selected as Best Cadet in the Annual Training Camp (ATC) held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 10th to 27th August, 2018
  6. Sohail Khan of B.A-III Won Gold Medal in Drill competition in the Annual Training Camp (ATC) held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 10th  to 27th August, 2018
  7. Mohit Sharma B.A-II won the Gold Medal in Semaphore & awarded a cash prize worth Rupee 14000 (Fourteen Thousand) in the All India Nau Sainik (National Level) Camp held at Indian Naval Base, Karwar, Karnataka from 14th to 25th October 2018.
  8. Tarun Kumar was awarded a cash prize worth Rupee 1000 (One Thousand) for Participated in the All India Nau Sainik Camp held at Indian Naval Base, Karwar, Karnataka from 14th  to 25th  October 2018.

  • Madhu Sudan Nautiyal of B.A-II Won the First Prize (Trophy) in Drill Competition & awarded a cash prize worth Rupee 5000 (Five Thousand Rupee) in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)-II Camp (National Integration Camp) held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 8th  Jan to 18th Jan, 2019
  • Vishal Singh of B.A-III Represented NCC Directorate at the Annual NCC Republic Day Camp and the Prime Minister’s Rally held at New Delhi from 01th January to 29th  January 2019
  • Vishal Singh of B.A-III won the Gold Medal in the Ship Modeling (Sailing Model) on the occasion of Republic Day Parade held at New Delhi on 26th Feb, 2019. He was also awarded a cash prize worth Rupee 12000 (Twelve Thousand Rupee)

  2. Four NCC Cadets of College participated Directorate Level Naval Training Camp (DNTC-II) & Combined Annual Training Camp held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 12th to 21th July, 2018
  3. Fifteen NCC Cadets of College participated in the Annual Training Camp (ATC) held at NCC Academy Ropar (Punjab) from 10th to 27th August, 2018

NCC Cadets during 37th Annual Athletic Meet

The NCC Cadets of Naval wing of our College participated in following different Activities:-

  1. Awareness Drive conducted by Chandigarh Traffic Police from 13th November 2018 to 17th November 2018 to Sensitize and Educate Cyclists about the benefits of using the Cycle Tracks.

The Cadets of NCC Naval wing of Post Graduate Government College Sector-46 participated in a special awareness drive conducted by Chandigarh Traffic Police from 13th November 2018 to 17th November 2018 to sensitize and educate cyclists about the benefits of using the cycle tracks. The students told the cyclists to use tracks as driving on the road meant for heavy vehicles can be risky for them. The traffic police team and the college students conducted the drive in prominent areas of the city. The violators were also given knowledge about traffic rules and road safety. Motorists were also told not to use cycle tracks as they are often seen driving on cycle tracks to avoid traffic snarls.

  • Communal Harmony Campaign Week & Flag Day (19th to 25th November 2018)

Post Graduate Government College-46, Chandigarh celebrated “Flag Day” on 22 November, 2018 to Mark the National Foundation for Communal Harmony.

Flag Day spreads the message of Communal Harmony and National Integration. Its main objectives are; to raise donations for the Physical & Psychological support of the orphan or destitute children affected by violence; and to promote fraternity among the people, maintain peace & Communal Harmony and National Integration. Cadets of NCC Naval Unit collected funds for the children renderd or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence for their care, education and training for their complete rehabilitation under the project ‘Assist’ of the foundation. The staff and students of college donated generously. A sum of Rs 1781/- was collected and donated to National Foundation for Communal Harmony (under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India).

  • Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7, 2018

Post Graduate Government College-46, Chandigarh celebrated “Armed Forces Flag Day-2018” on December 7, 2018.

It is an occasion for the citizens to display their solidarity with their Armed Forces by making generous contributions towards Armed forces Flag Day Fund. Cadets of NCC Naval Unit collected funds for Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. The staff and students of college donated generously. The amounts so collected are used for Rehabilitation and helping the ex-servicemen and their dependents who are in dire need of help. It is the day to pay back to the Armed Forces in some measure, for what they have done for us.

A sum of Rs 3016/- was collected and donated to Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Sector 21-D, Chandigarh for the welfare and resettlement of ex-servicemen.

  • 30th National Road Safety Week (4th Feb to 10th Feb, 2019)

Chandigarh Police observed the 30th National Road Safety Week from 4th to 10th Feb, 2019 under the theme “Sadak Suraksha–Jeevan Raksha“. Inaugural Function held in PGGC-46, Sector-46, Chandigarh on 4th Feb 2019. NCC Cadets of Naval Wing actively Participated in30th National Road Safety Week. The aim of celebrating the campaign road safety week is to promote the road safety measures in the community, schools, colleges, work places, on roads and etc. Road Safety is a type of Safety or any security from the Road Accidents by which people should safely drive their vehicles on the Road. Road Safety is required to safeguard the people who drive and who walks on the road from the Accident from the vehicles of the people. Road Safety provides every people to become secure and safe from unwanted Road Accidents.
